Final Stats, Play Offs And BIRTHDAY PARTY

Hi everyone,

Sorry I'm a bit late with this update but at last, here it is! Cue Inn 1 secured top spot and Cue Inn 3 second. An excellent performance from both the Cue Inn teams.
Cue Inn 1 will play Mabi's 5 on Tuesday 31 October in the first semi final and Cue Inn 3 will play Mabi's 1 in the second semi final on Thursday 2nd November. Both these games will take place at The Cue Inn, so come along and support and watch some good pool in the process. The final log positions as well as all the individual stats are there for everyone to see. Hope to see you all at The Cue Inn on the relevant nights supporting your teams.

Remember, there wont be a pool competition on the 1st November because it is THE CUE INN'S 6th BIRTHDAY!! WHOOAA!! Yes people, The Cue Inn will be 6 years old on the 1st Nov. and we are going to celebrate in style! The live band, Fish Bowl, will be performing from 9pm and ther will be very many specials throughout the day as well as an all day Happy Hour on certain beverages at certain times. The bar in the Beer Garden will also be open and I sincerly hope to see each and every one of you at The Cue Inn on Wednesday 1st Nov.

OK, I am so excited about the Birthday Party and still have so much to do to get everything ready for it, so I'm going to say cheers for now and hopefully see most of you tonight and ALL of you tomorrow!!

Chow for now,
JJ

Cue Inn 1 Secures Top Spot.

Hi All,

These are the stats. as at 6 October. Well done to the Cue Inn 1 team who have secured the top spot! Cue Inn 3 beat Mabis 5 on Tuesday 14-11 and they will move into second place therefore securing two home semi finals for The Cue Inn! Congrats.
The individual stats are below and a special congratulations to Dudley for ending up No.1 and only missing one single game the whole season. An excellent achievement! Congrats to Virginia who managed to end up in the top 16 and the top Lady in the league. Well done Virgin!!

A special mention to Cue Inn 5 who have made a terrific comeback in the second half of the season, moving right up from last to potentially ending 5th if they win their last game against Old Trafford. An excellent performance by them. A pity they started so badly as they could easily have been in the play offs'.

As soon as Yvette returns from Jhb. we will have a meeting and the play off dates will be announced as well as the draw and venues for the singles.

On Monday we had our Trivia evening and as usual it was a great success and professionally hosted by the two ladies from La Essence, Kelly and Elzanne. The biggest surprise on the night was that yours truly and my team of misfits managed to win after a sudden death round with our regular and often winning team of Don and his crew. Admittedly their star player was missing on the night, but who cares, we won!!LOL,

It was a great evening in the Beer Garden and with summer fast approaching I can only see our trivia evenings getting bigger and better.

The Pool Competition is in full swing and we have our first two finalists. Remember, only six more spots available, so get down to The Cue Inn on a Wednesday night and try to secure your spot in the final for those great prizes.

Karaoke tonight, Friday 13th!! So put on your dancing shoes and come and join us for a fun filled evening as we all know that we have a full house on our Karaoke evenings.

Hope to see you all there.

C U All Soon, and remember,
Be Cool, Play Pool.
Jay

On the lighter side:

Reaching the end of a job interview, the human resources person asked a young engineer fresh out of MIT what kind of a salary he was looking for.

"In the neighborhood of $140,000 a year, depending on the benefits package."

"Well, what would you say to a package of 5-weeks vacation, 14 paid holidays, full medical and dental, company matching retirement fund to 50% of salary, and a company car leased every 2 years...say, a red Corvette?"

"Wow! Are you kidding?"

"Yeah, but you started it."

News And Stats 02 October 2006

Hi everyone,

Here's the latest stats and as predicted the Cue Inn 1st team has jumped into quite a commanding lead. With Cue Inn 3 playing Mabi's 1 tomorrow night and been 19 points adrift, I don't think they can catch us. I do think that they will win the game though, but we will have to wait and see what happens!

Please make sure that all catch up games are completed within the next week! So captains, get off your butts and play those games as a.s.a.p. We can't hang around waiting for games to be completed when there is so little time to play the semi finals and finals as well as the singles championship.

My proposal for the singles is that the top 8 players are seeded straight into the 3rd round and that players in positions 9 to 16 straight into the 2nd round with the rest of the players playing off at various venues. Obviously this will still have to be decided by the committee and any input and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

The current reigning singles champion is Craig Stipp from The Cue Inn.

Wow, this year really has flown by. The Cue Inn will celebrate its' 6TH BIRTHDAY on the 1stof November!! It seemed like just the other day that we were 5!!

DIARISE that date. Wednesday 1st November. The mother of all parties and I suggest that you all put in for a days leave 2nd Nov. Last year there was no parking and the people were parking on the grass across the road!!! So come early and remember that there will be loads of specials as well as HAPPY HOUR SPECIALS THE WHOLE DAY!!!

There will also be a live band so bring your dancing shoes.

Remember that the 8 week pool competition starts this Wednesday. Read last weeks post for more info.

Thats it for now,
So remember,
Be Cool, Play Pool1
