Pool Competition News & Latest Stats.

Hi again everyone,
As you can all see things are really hotting up at the top of the log now. Cue Inn 1 only 2 points behind Cue Inn 3 with two games to go! It must be noted that Cue Inn 1 are firm favourites to end up on top as they definitely have the two easier games. They play Mabi's 2 and Open Arms whereas Cue Inn 3 have to play Mabi's 1 and Mabi's 5 in their final two games!
It looks as if the race is on for 4th spot as I don't see anyone catching Mabi's 1 in 3rd place. Of course there is still a mathematical possibility that they can end 1st or 2nd, but highly unlikely!
UPDATE!!!!!!
Cue Inn 1 beat Mabi's 2 21-4 last night so that basically settles matters as far as I'm concerned!
Please can all teams complete all fixtures in the next two weeks so we can finalise the league.
Remember that there is Karaoke this Friday, 29th, so I hope to see you all there. With Jeff providing the entertainment I'm sure it will once again be a total blast!
Now for the big Pool Competition News.
This Wednesday our normal comp. will take place but as from next month the comp. will change as follows;
Competition will run over a period of 8 weeks for a total of R1800 in prize money.
Each week the winner will receive R100 and go through to the final on 6 December.
The 8 winners will then play for a first prize of R700 and a brand new 3/4 split Riley Cue and a second prize of R300.
Dates: 4, 11, 18, 25 October
8, 15, 22, 29 November
Final: 6 December 2006
So I think that it could be very exciting and I hope to see you all participating to try and secure your spot in the final.
Ps: Obviously, once a person has won and secured his/her spot, that person will not be eligible to play again until the final. That way we will be assured of having 8 winners and 8 players in the final!
Thats it for now folks. I'll have some more news next week!
Till then
Be Cool, Play Pool!

Stats as at 18 Sept.

Latest stats as supplied by "doc" Yvette. Things are starting to get interesting at the top of the leaderboard. Cue Inn 1 play Mabis 1 tonite and that should put things into perspective!

Once again the Trivia evening was a great success and a great time was had by all. We had it outside and there were no complaints as the weather played along. Summer is fast approaching and the beer garden is really going to rock as soon as the outside bar is completed.
Thanks once again to the ladies from La Essence. Kelly and Elzanne, who did a great job with the questions for the trivia as well as making the whole evening enjoyable for all who participated.
Remember, everyone is welcome even if you dont have a team as there are always people looking to form teams on the night.
The pool comps are going well and as from next month the format is going to change and we will play for a grand prize of R1000 over a period of 8 weeks!! More about that a bit later as we work ot all the details of that and some additional sponsorship in the form of cues, etc.
Karaoke is just getting bigger and better every time. Jeff hosted it last Friday and everyone had an absolute ball. Our next one will be on the 29th Sept. and we hope to see you all there.
We all wish Melissa good luck in her quest to win the Karaoke competition she is currently participating in. We went to watch her sing on Sunday evening and she easily won that round to go through to the next round. Good luck!
Well, thats it for now. have to get ready to go and teach Mabi's 1 a pool lesson!! LOL!

News And Stats

The latest stats as per our stats lady Yvette "Doc" Olivier. Cue Inn1 closing on the leaders at a rapid pace, only 1pt. behind! Otherwise not much movement on the log. It looks like its going to be a scramble to see who end up in 4th place as it looks like the first 3 spots are relatively sewn up. It's just a matter of who is going to end up where as there are still some important games to be played by the top 3 teams!
I urge all team captains to make a plan and to play all fixtutes as soon as possible. I see that there are quite a few games still outstanding and we really dont want to drag the league out any longer than necessary. Remember that we still have to play the Singles Championship and have a end of year prize giving function! So play those outstanding games ASAP please!
MONDAY NIGHT TRIVIA!!!
Yes, it's trivia night at Cue Inn tonight so get a team together and come join us for a fun filled evening. Even if you dont have a full team you can still come and join us have some fun and show off your general knowledge! I know that Elzanne and Kelly have worked hard on this one and have promised that it's going to be the best one yet!
Wednesday is Pool Competition evenining and its getting bigger all the time so get down early to secure your spot. We are going to run a Very Big comp soon so watch this space and in house advertising!!
Friday night we will be having Karaoke and if the last couple of Karaokes are anything to go by. it's going to be another great and very busy night!
So everyone, I think thats enough for now and we look forward to seeing you all at Your Home From Home, The Cue Inn!!
C U All Soon,

Back From Ellis Park!

As you can see Elzanne had a great time this weekend when we were fortunate to be invited as guests of CSport to watch the South Africa-Australia rugby match at Ellis Park last Saturday.
It really was great and the cherry on top was the great victory by the Springboks! CSport really treated us well with great food and drink before and after the match. Andy Capistanio was the master of ceromonies and big Schalk Burger the guest speaker. It was amazing to see in what high regard Schalk is held by the rugby public throughout South Africa as well as the rest of the world! Needless to say we had a great time and cant wait to do something similar in the near future. Cue Inn updates and stats to follow shortly!! Chow

Stats as at 31 August

These are the latest stats as received from Yvette.Sorry they are a bit late but she was off sick last week! Some story about a stiff neck. I think maybe Derek was a bit stiff and that was the consequence,LOL!
Anyway as you can all see Cue Inn 1 is now hot on the heels of Cue Inn 3 thanks to some inspired play by Cue Inn 5! This team has really improved over the second half of the season and as a result have moved up the table a bit. A pity about their very poor start at in the beginning!
There is also a bit of movement in the individual rankings as the season starts coming to a close.
As could be expected the steady and better players are moving to the top the longer the league progresses. We are looking forward to the final standings to see where everyone ends and to see the seedings for the Singles championship at the end of the year. There will be further updates about that later.

LAST WEEK AT THE CUE INN
The pool comp. was won by Juan from Cue Inn 5! Well done to Juan! We are going to run the Pool Competition over a period of either 8 or 16 weeks,(still deciding!) , and then let all the winners play off for one big prize. Your feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.
Once again the Karaoke went off well although not as well as the previous weeks, but still good and enjoyed by all.We had some new guests such as Melissa and Bronwyn who both sang exceptionately well. We hope that they will be visiting us on a regular basis.
Hopefully our new counters and the improvements will all be finished soon.
